Thursday, February 21st ~ Lauren Johnson: Empty Nesting for Single Moms

Empty Nesting is a different experience for single moms, especially if she is the mother of a son. Whether it’s your clashing hormones, a son’s changing boundaries, his compulsion to leave the nest, or his inherent need for risk-taking and adventure, an empty nesting mom needs all the compassion, love, and support she can get.

Lauren Johnson worked as a career writer and communication expert for more than 20 years. She’s been a vice president of employee communications, a Hollywood workshop manager, a ghostwriter for best-selling books, and an author coach and editor in all genres. Lauren’s first try at writing her own book led to her being a winner in the Transformational Author Experience contest in 2015. Three years and several versions later, her book, Flying Lessons: A Single Mom’s Guide to Empty Nesting, won again in 2018. Now Lauren wants to use her story to support empty nesting moms as they experience this significant transition.

As a single mom, Lauren is passionate about our new possibility to be partners and parents with our adult sons. As a business owner, writer, speaker, and former property manager of the Stonecote Estate in Louisville, Kentucky, Lauren is devoted to helping middle-age women everywhere embrace their fabulous fifties to ensure they have sensational sixties and beyond. Lauren also uses her platform to be a champion for sons of all ages.

When she’s not writing or editing, Lauren loves girl’s nights in with champagne and conversation, solo road trips, dancing like everyone’s watching, movies, weight training, ballet, American Ninja Warrior, and spending time with her son.
