During her 15 years of teaching Leadership and Organizational Behavior courses in a traditional college system,\u00a0Michelle Jones<\/b>\u00a0got a front row seat as to what is broken in that system. That\u2019s when she decided to gather a group of like-minded badasses around a vision of what a revolution in higher education could look like. After years of helping groups and non-profits organize for social impact as a volunteer (SuperThank, TEDxMtHood, World Domination Summit), Michelle started her legacy project and the Wayfinding Academy was born. Join us as Michelle discusses her vision, what she\u2019s doing with the academy, and why she feels it will not only impact students but help the world as well.<\/p>\n
Wayfinding Academy was founded on the frustrating realization that our culture of higher education is backwards \u2013 first you pick a 4-year college, then you pick a major from a list, then you figure out what you\u2019re going to do, and then you try it out.<\/p>\n
Michelle wants to turn the system frontwards.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s because she believes education is our chance to make the world better. What you do with your life matters to more than just you, and when we each live life on purpose, we all thrive.<\/p>\n
Yes, this sounds idealistic. But it\u2019s real. They\u2019ve been approved by Oregon\u2019s Higher Education Coordinating Commission to grant Associate\u2019s Degrees in Self & Society. They are committed to stretching the norms of education from within the system.<\/p>\n
